Veri*factu in PrestaShop: what you need to do.

If you sell in Spain with PrestaShop and issue invoices from the shop, your invoicing system must comply with Spain's invoicing software regulation (Veri*factu). Here are the dates in force, what the Spanish Treasury has announced and what to check in your shop.

Dates

When does it become mandatory?

The dates in force today are those of Royal Decree-law 15/2025 of 2 December:

  • Before 1 January 2027: companies that pay Spanish corporate income tax.
  • Before 1 July 2027: everyone else obliged, including self-employed workers and professionals.

On 5 October 2026 the Ministry of Finance announced that it plans to postpone these obligations to October 2028, to match mandatory e-invoicing for businesses with a turnover of up to €8 million a year. It is a plan: until the rule that changes it is approved, the 2027 dates still apply.

What Veri*factu requires

  • Every invoice creates an invoicing record chained to the previous one, which cannot be altered without leaving a trace.
  • The invoice carries a QR code so the customer can check it with the AEAT.
  • Two modes: send each record to the AEAT straight away (VERI*FACTU) or keep them signed and available to the tax office.
  • The invoicing software must comply with the regulation; using one that doesn't is penalised.
Your PrestaShop shop

What you need to check

Out of the box, PrestaShop creates PDF invoices, but no Veri*factu records and no QR code. Before your deadline:

  1. 01

    Decide who invoices

If invoices come out of PrestaShop, the shop is your invoicing system and must comply. If your ERP or your accountant issues them, that software is the one that must comply, and PrestaShop just passes on the orders.

  2. 02

    Check VAT and rounding

With Veri*factu, an invoice that doesn't add up can't be fixed by hand later: it's already recorded. Make sure taxes, shipping and discounts match to the cent.

  3. 03

    Automate sending

Every invoiced order should reach Veri*factu on its own, with the QR on the invoice and credit notes properly linked, with no typing.

How we solve it

CoreGest: from order to Veri*factu

CoreGest is the ERP we develop at Rekire. It connects to your PrestaShop, downloads the orders, fixes the VAT rounding PrestaShop gets wrong in some combinations and records every invoice in Veri*factu with no manual work.

Veri*factu plan from €60 a month + VAT, with a €500 set-up, no per-invoice fees.

Do I have to comply with Veri*factu if I sell with PrestaShop?

If you are a business or self-employed in Spain and issue invoices with software (and the shop counts if it invoices), yes. Those who keep their VAT books through the Immediate Supply of Information system (SII) and the Basque Country and Navarre, which have their own system, are excluded.

Has Veri*factu been postponed to 2028?

It has been announced, not approved. On 5 October 2026 the Ministry of Finance said it plans to move it to October 2028. Until the rule is published, the dates in force are 1 January 2027 (companies) and 1 July 2027 (everyone else).

Is a module that uploads invoices enough?

Uploading the invoice is the easy part. The hard part is getting it right: VAT that adds up, credit notes linked and no one having to check every order. That's why we solved it with an ERP instead of a module.
