AI for product pages: productivity without losing quality

AI can write a hundred product pages in the time it takes you to write one. The challenge is making them good, accurate and yours. This is how we do it.

AI for product pages: productivity without losing quality

Generative artificial intelligence has changed how catalogue content is created. Used well, it gives complete product pages to stores that never had time to write them. Used badly, it fills the store with generic copy or, worse, made-up data.

Where it really helps

  • Writing descriptions from technical data.
  • Generating titles and meta descriptions with a consistent structure.
  • Translating the catalogue into other languages, as a first draft.
  • Extracting structured features from manufacturer texts.
  • Suggesting alt text for images.

The rules for not ruining it

  1. Real input data: the AI must work from the technical sheet, not invent. If it does not have a piece of data, it should not write it.
  2. Your tone: define a style guide with examples and always use it.
  3. Human review before publishing, at least by sampling and always for products with sensitive data (health, safety, compatibility).
  4. Not everything at once: start with one category, measure, adjust.
The risk of “hallucinations”: a model can state with complete confidence that a product is compatible with something it is not. On a product page, that means returns and complaints. Compatibility, dimensions and certifications must come from verified data.

Recommended workflow

  1. Export the product data.
  2. Generate the draft with instructions and examples.
  3. Review and correct.
  4. Publish and measure: time on page, conversion, returns.

Tools such as AI Catalog Flow automate this workflow integrated with PrestaShop, while keeping control over what gets published.
