If a product's price drops after a customer buys it, Price Drop Protectionautomatically creates a voucher for the difference (per unit, with an expiration date and partial use), notifies the customer by email, and records the transaction in a credit ledger. The default protection window is 14 days, with minimum purchase amounts and percentages, and exclusions for sales, categories, manufacturers, and products. It includes a trusted badge on the product page with 23 themes and a "My Price Protection" page in My Account. So you can shop today without fear before Black Friday. Your customer is waiting for you to lower the price. And you lose today's sale.

Many shoppers postpone their orders in case Black Friday or a sale comes around, and those who bought a week ago get angry when they see the price reduced. Price Drop Protection (RKR) automatically refunds the difference as a voucher: buying today is no longer scary.

When a customer makes a purchase and the price of that product drops within the protection window, a scheduled process (cron) creates a PrestaShop voucher for the difference multiplied by the number of units purchased, sends them an email, and records it in a credit ledger. Your team doesn't review tickets or process refunds manually.

Okay, no refund.
The money stays in your store: the customer receives a voucher with an expiration date, visible in their shopping cart, which they can use on their next purchase. If they spend less than the voucher amount, they keep the rest.
It's useful for sales and for lowering the base price.
It detects both specific campaign prices (like Black Friday) and price drops on the product's base price. If you prefer not to cover sales, there's an option to exclude them.
Please respect the currency of the order
The comparison is made in the currency in which the customer paid.

No giving away vouchers for pennies or for products you don't intend to cover:

Minimum amount and percentage
By default, a decrease of at least €1 and 3%; both values are adjusted.
Exclusions
Leave out specific categories, manufacturers, or products.
Orders by bank transfer
Protection begins only after the order is paid, not before. If the order is canceled or refunded, protection ends.

Visible confidence before buying

A badge on the product page tells visitors that if the price drops, you'll compensate them. You can choose from 23 style themes and various animation effects (pulse, zoom, glow, shake, bounce, fade) and customize colors, fonts, borders, and rounding. Customers also have a "My Price Protection" page in My Account with their balance and history.

Multi - store and multi-language

It works with multiple stores, and the texts are edited by language. The module includes the voucher email and translations in Spanish and English; you can add other languages from the PrestaShop translations.

What you should know

The module doesn't run automatically: schedule the address shown in the General tab in your hosting cron job (recommended once an hour; the address has a key that you can regenerate). You can also run the check manually from the settings.

Review of the 1.0.0 , tested with real orders on PrestaShop 1.7.8.11 , 8.2.8 and 9.1.5.

Fixed

  • Orders were never protected: the order status was read before PrestaShop wrote it, so no order was registered and no credit was ever issued. Orders are now protected when they are validated as paid, and orders paid later (bank wire, check) when they reach a paid status.
  • The email arrived with the template code in sight ( {$body nofilter} , {ls=...} ): the templates are now standard PrestaShop email templates in mails/ / , and the template path given to the mailer was wrong.
  • The email body lost its HTML (paragraphs, bold, link to the customer page) when it was saved.
  • In multistore, installing or saving from one shop hid the settings from the others: the engine looked disabled and the cron URL had no key. Settings are now global; orders, credits and events stay per shop.
  • Orders in another currency: the current price is now computed in the currency of the order.

Changed

  • Sales with a specific price (Black Friday, seasonal sales) generate credits by default; the option to exclude them is still there.
  • The voucher is shown in the customer's cart and keeps the remainder when the order is smaller than the credit.
  • PrestaShop Addons rules: no Context:: , no deprecated calls, translations with domain, configuration page reachable from the module manager, index.php in every folder, .htaccess , coding standards.
