Your customers upload an STL, OBJ, 3MF, STEP, DXF, or SVG file and instantly see the price for 3D printing or laser cutting, with a built-in 3D viewer. The quote appears in the shopping cart as a line item with its actual file size, and the file is saved in the order for download. Ideal for 3D printing workshops, makerspaces, laser cutting, and signage. Rekire module, tested in real-world stores.

Compatible with PrestaShop 1.7.8 , 8.x and 9.x, with PHP 7.1 to 8.3.

3D printing and laser cutting

Your client uploads the file and sees the price instantly. You don't even open an email.

Each handwritten quote takes up an hour of your day and a customer who, while waiting, orders elsewhere. RKR Print & Laser Price Calculator It analyzes the model on the server, calculates the price with your rules, and adds it to the cart, ready to pay.

6 formats
STL, OBJ, 3MF and STEP for 3D printing; DXF and SVG for laser cutting
11 panels
In the back office: from materials and pricing rules to statistics and guidance
23 styles
to make the calculator fit with your store's design, with custom CSS if needed

/ From file to cart, without your intervention

The customer drags and drops their model, chooses the material, color, and fill (or thickness, if it's laser-engraved), and views the 3D preview in their browser while the price updates live. One click and the quote is in their cart. It works on a dedicated page of your store and also as a calculator within product pages, either on all of them or only on the ones you select.

STL, OBJ, 3MF
Also 3MF with various objects and those generated by Bambu Studio, PrusaSlicer or Orca.
STEP / STP
With an estimated volume based on the model box, not measured on the exact geometry.
DXF
Respect the units declared in the drawing ($INSUNITS), so a plan in inches is not confused with one in millimeters.
SVG
Cutting length and sheet area; the preview is shown as an image, never as executable code.

/ A price that reflects what it really costs you

You calculate using the same criteria you would use by hand, but always the same and without omissions.

3D printing
Cost per cm³ and density of each material, filling, machine time (layer height, speed and perimeters), start-up and waste.
Laser cutting
Sheet metal area by cost per cm², plus cutting length between speed, with thicknesses by material.
Your margins
Margin by cost segments (more margin on small items, less on large items), quantity discounts and rounding.
VAT
It is applied according to your store's tax settings.

Each line is a lot at the quoted price. If the customer changes the quantity in the cart, they buy entire batches: they never get the volume discount of 50 pieces by paying for 5.

/ It goes into the order like any other product.

Actual weight and carriers
The line carries the weight of the budget and uses the carriers of the product template you choose, with its image and its tax rule.
The file, in the order
The order form in the back office displays the block of 3D printing and laser cutting files: file download, parts, measurements and customer note.

/ You see it and manage it from the back office

Applications
All budgets with filters, file download, expiration, reopen, deletion and export to CSV.
Statistics
Indicators of activity, revenue, services, materials and funnel, with included graphs.
Import and export
Your materials and rules in JSON or CSV format, and sample data to test before opening to the public.
A guide within the module
The Guide panel explains the pricing formula and each adjustment.

/ Your customer files, safe and sound

A store that receives files from unknown senders has to be careful about what it does with them.

Outside the module and with a different name
They are saved in the PrestaShop uploads folder with a random name and the .upload extension: they are never served as a page or as an SVG.
Signed downloads
The back office download links are signed by the employee and expire daily. By default, only the SuperAdmin has access to the module.
Against abuses
A visitor cannot request more than 30 quotes per hour.
It cleans itself
Price increases that did not reach the budget and cloned products from expired budgets are automatically removed.

/ What worries

Compatible with PrestaShop 1.7.8, 8.x and 9.x, with PHP 7.1 to 8.3 and with multi-store support, and translated into six languages (Spanish, English, French, Italian, Portuguese, and German). We have tested it on 1.7.8.11, , 8.2.8, , 9.0.0 and 9.2.0. The analysis that determines the price occurs on the server; the 3D viewer is drawn in the browser without external libraries or a CDN. It requires the PHP zip and xml extensions (for 3MF) and fileinfo.

The STEPs are estimated (the exact geometry of a STEP requires a CAD engine): use them with a margin or request confirmation. For all other formats, the volume, box, and cut length are measured on the model.

Compatible with PrestaShop 1.7.8, 8.x and 9.x, with PHP 7.1 to 8.3

v1.1.0

Full review of the 1.0.0. Fixes:

  • The calculator's JavaScript and CSS never loaded on the shop (the asset path carried a query string and PrestaShop dropped it): nobody could upload a file.
  • The product-page widget always looked at product 1 (themes pass a lazy array, not a Product).
  • A first-time visitor (no cart yet) could not add a quote to the cart, and the quote and its product were left orphaned.
  • The quote product was created without stock and with the shop's "deny orders when out of stock": the cart refused the line.
  • Binary STL files (the usual format) were read with multibyte string functions: wrong dimensions, volume and price for every binary STL.
  • VAT was computed with the tax rules group passed as a product id and with a manufacturer's address: the calculator showed the price without VAT while the cart charged it.
  • The volume discount could be bought for fewer pieces than quoted by lowering the cart quantity. The cart line is now one batch at the quoted price; more units in the cart buy whole batches.
  • Quotes were linked to the order by cart, including the ones removed from it; now by the order lines, with the real number of pieces.
  • 3MF files with several objects (Bambu Studio, PrusaSlicer, Orca) mixed the vertices of one object with another; zip-bomb guard added.
  • DXF ignored $INSUNITS (a drawing in inches came out 25.4 times smaller) and counted block definitions; SVG took unitless values as millimeters and cut / . Laser material is now the sheet rectangle (holes were counted as extra material).
  • Open or inside-out meshes (almost no volume) are rejected instead of being sold at the minimum price.
  • Customer files moved to upload/rkrprintprice/ with the ".upload" suffix: on Nginx an uploaded SVG could be opened on the shop domain. The SVG preview is shown as an image.
  • Every employee profile got full access to the module (customer files included): only SuperAdmin by default now, and each action checks the profile permission.
  • Download links are signed per employee and day; CSV export protected against formula injection, with UTF-8 BOM.
  • 30 quotes per visitor and hour; uploads that never became a quote are deleted after one day; the clean-up also runs from the back office.
  • "All shops" context: the quote grid and KPIs were empty and new materials were saved for no shop.
  • The template selector lost the template once there were a few hundred quotes (clones were listed).
  • Shops in debug mode: notices of other modules broke the JSON calculator.
  • Uninstalling deleted the files of paid orders and left the quote products on sale.
  • New block on the back-office order page with the quotes, pieces, note and file download (the 1.0.0 wrote a private message the order page no longer shows).
  • PrestaShop Addons validator: Context, deprecated calls, hash_hmac, nofilter, coding standard; AFL-3.0 license; six languages.
