Sell to the Canary Islands, Ceuta, and Melilla as exports without any manual intervention: the module detects the destination by postal code and automatically removes VAT from products and shipping in the shopping cart, order, and invoice (or charges IGIC/IPSI if you're registered, or simply provides a notification). It alerts the customer to the upcoming local tax, adds an optional customs clearance surcharge, and prepares each order for your accountant: a monthly summary for form 303 and a CSV file of exports with invoice number and tax ID. A Rekire module.

Compatible with PrestaShop 1.7.8 to 9.x, with PHP 7.1 to 8.3.

Sales to the Canary Islands, Ceuta and Melilla

Orders to Tenerife are exempt from VAT. Does your store know this?

The Canary Islands, Ceuta, and Melilla are outside the VAT territory: anything you send there is considered an export. If your store doesn't recognize postal codes, charge the full VAT and your customer then pays the IGIC or IPSI upon receiving the package, or you have to manually deduct it for each order. RKR Shipments to the Canary Islands, Ceuta and Melilla It detects the destination by postal code and applies the treatment you choose in the shopping cart, order, and invoice.

0% VAT on each line
Products, shipping and gift wrapping, with a tax "VAT Exempt (export)" recorded on the order and invoice
3 treatments
Sell without VAT, charge IGIC/IPSI if you are registered, or maintain VAT and only notify
5 CSV reports
Monthly summary for form 303, exports with invoice number and tax identification number, by territory, customs declaration expenses and complete registration

/ The VAT is actually being removed, not just on screen

When the delivery address is in one of these territories, the module responds to the PrestaShop tax manager (hook) actionTaxManagerTherefore, products, shipping, and gift wrapping all show a 0% tax rate in the shopping cart, the order, each line item, and the invoice. Each line item includes a 0% tax rate labeled "VAT Exempt (Export)," so the order and invoice clearly indicate the applied rate.

For the rest of your orders, nothing changes: the module only responds to addresses in the Canary Islands, Ceuta, and Melilla. It does not touch the tax rule groups from your store.

/ You choose the treatment

Three modes, which you can change whenever you want in the Taxes tab:

Sell without VAT (exempt export)
The usual thing in a store on the peninsula or the Balearic Islands: products and shipping at 0% and the customer pays the IGIC or IPSI when the package is imported.
Collect IGIC / IPSI in your store
Only if you are registered. Each product's VAT rate is replaced with a local rate according to a table you edit, and the order saves the tax charged. The module creates the IGIC rates (0, 3, 7, 9.5, and 15%) and the IPSI rates for Ceuta and Melilla (0, 0.5, 1, 4, and 8%) in International > Taxes, which you can change.
Keep the VAT and only notify
The order still includes the usual VAT and the customer sees the notice of the local tax they may have to pay.

/ Detect the destination by postal code

By default, codes that begin with 35 and 38 They are the Canary Islands, the 51 It is Ceuta and the 52 Melilla. You change the prefixes, use ranges (35000-35999) and add exceptions, one per line: 35010:IC to force a code on the Canary Islands, 35999:NONE to exclude it. The panel includes a postcode tester to see how any code is sorted.

Only addresses in Spain are checked. 35000 is also Rennes and 38 is also Grenoble, in France. An order to France is untouchable.. If your store has the Canary Islands, or Ceuta and Melilla, created as countries, their addresses are also checked.

/ The customer knows what will happen when they receive the package

When the customer's address falls within one of these territories, they'll see a notification in the shopping cart and order summary (and, if enabled, at the top of the entire store): that the purchase is VAT-free, what local tax they may have to pay upon delivery, the rate, an estimated amount, the delivery surcharge, and their postal code. The icon, rate, estimated amount, and surcharge are shown or hidden separately.

Your texts, by territory and language
You edit the message for each territory in each language of your store, with markers like {territory}, , {regime}, , {rate}, , {amount}, , {dua}, , {zipcode} and {shop}. They come pre-written: in Spanish for the Spanish language and in English for the others.
An estimate, not a settlement
With sales excluding VAT, the amount is an estimate: the total cost of the products multiplied by the local tax rate you set (by default, 7% IGIC and 4% IPSI). The customer pays this upon import.
With the look of your store
23 style themes, optional animations (pulse, zoom, bounce, brightness…), custom colors and CSS, with live preview in the back office. The client can close the notification if you allow it.
General notice, if you want
A message about the Canary Islands, Ceuta, and Melilla for those who haven't yet entered an address. It's currently disabled.

/ DUA dispatch surcharge, without touching anything by hand

If you charge the customer for customs clearance, the module automatically adds the surcharge to the cart. It does this using a hidden service product (reference RKR-DUA-FEE): It enters only once, with the price calculated for that cart, and disappears if the address is no longer within these territories. It works for all three treatments, as long as the cart remains within your limits.

Three ways to calculate it
Fixed amount per order, percentage of total products, or an amount per 100 products (each increment of 100, or fraction thereof, counts as one). With minimum and maximum surcharge.
With the applicable tax
Exempt or, if you charge IGIC / IPSI, at the general local rate.
In view of the customer
It appears in the shopping cart notification if you leave that option enabled.

/ Limits: treatment only where you want it

You can apply the special treatment to only some shopping carts. Outside of the limits, the cart is subject to normal VAT and no customs clearance fee.

For the amount
Minimum and maximum total of products, excluding taxes.
By product or category
Apply only when the cart contains one of them, or don't apply when it does. You specify them by their ID.

/ The bill explains it.

The PDF invoice for exempt orders includes an exemption note. It automatically cites Article 21 of Law 37/1992 on VAT, the destination with its postal code, and states that import duties are the responsibility of the recipient. You can edit it by region and language, or turn it off with a switch.

The series text is a starting point: Check it with your advisor before leaving it on your bills.

/ Each order, noted for your manager

Each order to these territories is recorded with its taxable amount, the VAT not charged (calculated using your store's actual rates, not a fixed 21%), the local tax, and the customs clearance surcharge, in the default currency. The same tax summary appears on the order details in the back office.

Monthly summary (form 303)
Orders, base, non-charged VAT, local tax and SAD by month, territory and treatment. Exempt exports are those in box 60 of form 303.
Exports, one row per order
Date, reference, invoice number, customer, VAT number (or the ID number of your billing address), territory, postal code and amounts, to compare with the export customs declaration documents.
And three more
By territory and postal code, DUA expenses charged and the complete activity record.
Ready to open
CSV in UTF-8 that opens well in Excel, with semicolon, comma or tab separator, and filter by dates and territory.
Statistics
Orders, taxable amount, local tax, customs clearance fees, invoicing, average order value, and non-charged VAT, with charts by month, territory, local tax, and postal code. Period of 30, 90, 180 days, or 12 months.

The module prepares the data: does not submit any tax forms to the Tax Office nor does it replace your manager.

/ Multistore, Spanish and English, and backup

It works with multiple stores: settings are saved for the selected store or group, and each store retains its own unique ad appearance. The dashboard and messages are available in both Spanish and English, and customer text can be edited by language.

The settings and text are exported to a JSON file and imported into another store. With the demo data (six months of fictitious orders that don't affect any real sales), you can view the statistics and reports before any actual sales occur, and remove them with a single button. The module includes a guide and a diagnostic tool that verifies, among other things, that this module is the first to respond to the tax authority.

/ What you should know

The export exemption requires an export customs declaration (DUA) for each shipment. The module applies the treatment you choose; it is not tax advice. Consult your advisor to determine the appropriate method for you before implementing it.

This module is designed for stores in mainland Spain and the Balearic Islands that ship to these territories. If another module also responds to the tax manager (actionTaxManager), this one must be listed first; the Summary tab checks for this. It only responds for these territories, so the other module continues to function for all other orders.

Uninstalling deletes the order record and the DUA surcharge product (the module asks for confirmation); the taxes it created are deactivated and existing orders continue to point to them.

Tested end-to-end (cart, order and invoice) on PrestaShop 1.7.8.11, , 8.2.8 and 9.0.0, and the update from the 1.1.0 in 9.0 and 9.2. If you come from the 1.1.0, Upload the ZIP file: the module adjusts its schema and removes tax rule groups from that version when no product uses them. License AFL-3.0.

Compatible with PrestaShop 1.7.8 to 9.x, with PHP 7.1 to 8.3

v1.2.0

Review of the 1.1.0 , tested with real carts and orders on PrestaShop 1.7.8.11 , 8.2.8 and 9.0.0 , and upgraded from 1.1.0 on 9.0 and 9.2.

Fixed

  • The VAT was never removed. The module hooked a taxManager hook that PrestaShop does not run (the core runs actionTaxManager ) and returned an object that is not a tax manager, so the core ignored it: carts and orders to the Canary Islands, Ceuta and Melilla were charged the full VAT. The module now answers actionTaxManager first with a real tax manager, so the cart, the shipping, the gift wrapping, the order, the order lines and the invoice all get the same treatment.
  • The DUA fee never reached the cart: the helper product could not be ordered and its price was written into columns PrestaShop does not have. The fee is now a hidden service product added once to the cart, with its own price for that cart only, and it leaves the cart when the address changes to the mainland.
  • French addresses with a postal code starting by 35 or 38 (Rennes, Grenoble) would have been treated as the Canary Islands: only the addresses of Spain (and of the Canary Islands or Ceuta and Melilla created as countries) are checked now.
  • The customer notice threw an error on PrestaShop 9 ( Tools::displayPrice does not exist there) and disappeared after any cart change.
  • The appearance pane overwrote the custom CSS of the merchant with the theme variables on every load.
  • The amount limits looped while computing the cart total; they are computed now without asking the tax manager again.
  • Exports and AJAX calls sent the module token as the PrestaShop token and were refused.

Changed

  • Orders are registered with their taxable base, the VAT not charged (computed with the real rates of the shop, not a fixed 21%), the local tax and the DUA fee, in the default currency.
  • New reports: monthly summary for the VAT return (model 303, box 60) and one row per exported order with its invoice number and tax ID. The old "model 349" extract is gone: exports are not intra-community operations.
  • New exemption note on the PDF invoice of the exempt orders (art. 21 of the Spanish VAT Act), editable per territory and language.
  • Local tax mode: real IGIC and IPSI taxes in International > Taxes (editable rates) instead of in-memory rates, so orders record the tax charged.
  • The "remove the VAT of the shipping" switch is gone: the shipping follows the products, as the law does.
  • Fiscal summary on the back office order page.
  • No tax rules groups are created any more; the 1.1.0 ones are removed when no product uses them.
  • PrestaShop Addons rules: no Context:: , no hash_hmac , no nofilter , no HTML in PHP, literal translations, index.php everywhere, .htaccess , LICENSE.txt , coding standards, PHP 7.1 to 8.3.
  • Spanish translation.
