Generates a GS1 Digital Link QR code for each product and combination with a GTIN: readable by any mobile device and with the address provided by your own store . Each code leads to a scanning page with the product and its manuals, data sheets, and passports, and you can print custom vector PDF labels. Countless scans without saving IP or browser information. Your products already have a barcode. Now they can have one that also takes the customer to their manual, data sheet, and page.

An EAN-13 code only identifies the product. A GS1 Digital Link QR code contains the same GTIN within a web address that any mobile device can open. RKR GS1 Digital Link QR Generate that code for each product in your catalog and respond to the address from your own store, without depending on any external service.

QR code readable with any mobile phone
The generator follows the full ISO/IEC 18004 standard, with error correction, and its codes have been checked with an independent decoder.
The link works on your domain.

The address is 14 digits long; the batch and serial number are in the route and the date in the query, as defined by GS1 Digital Link.
One code per combination

Linking is not certifying. The module links your documents; it doesn't verify their content or certify your compliance with any regulations. The AI only transcribes the short text from the scanned page: never security data sheets or passports.

The GTIN has to be yours. The number is assigned by GS1 to the trademark holder. The module verifies that the digits are correct, not who owns them. If you are not the manufacturer, they decide what is printed on the packaging; your codes are also valid for your labels, shelves, and brochures.

GS1 has set a goal of having points of sale read 2D codes by the end of 2027. It is not prohibiting EAN-13: during the transition, packaging often displays both. With this module, you already have the 2D codes for your catalog; for specific requirements from each distributor, please contact them.

The module was rebuilt around one thing: a code printed today has to work.

Fixed

  • QR codes can now be scanned. The 1.0.0 generator had no error correction and no format information, and filled the free space with a hash: no phone or scanner could read its codes. It is replaced by a complete ISO/IEC 18004 encoder, checked with an independent decoder.
  • Links lead somewhere. The codes pointed to id.gs1.org , which does not know the products of a shop unless they are registered there. The shop now answers /01 /{gtin} itself. Another solver can still be chosen.
  • The GTIN in the link is always written with 14 digits, and lot and serial go in the path and the date in the query, as GS1 Digital Link defines.
  • Saving or deleting a product did nothing: the hooks read a parameter that does not exist. Codes now follow the product and its combinations.
  • "Generate all" stopped at 1,000 products, accepted wrong GTINs and created codes without a drawing, so the shop and the exports stayed empty. It now works in steps, for any size of catalogue.
  • Scans were never counted: there was nothing receiving them. Monthly statistics also added all scans to the month the code was created.
  • CSV import did not read the file. It now imports, reports line by line and accepts the CSV the module exports.
  • The QR settings tab saved nothing, and the colors, sizes and adjustments of the themes had no effect in the shop.
  • Example data failed on some PrestaShop versions, left visible products in the catalog and scan logs behind. The unused rkrldq_config table is removed when upgrading.
  • Fatal error when another Rekire module had loaded a menu trait with the same name.
  • The AI connection test answered "connected" even when the provider failed.
  • The module altered the tab table of PrestaShop on installation: not any more.

Security and privacy

  • No IP address, browser or referrer is stored for a scan; old values are deleted when upgrading.
  • The AI key is stored encrypted and never written back to the page; for Google it no longer travels in the URL.
  • Permissions of the employee profile are checked in every action, and changes require POST.
  • Document links only accept http and https, and custom CSS is cleaned and served as a stylesheet.
  • ZIP files are built on the server: nothing is loaded from external CDNs.
