In categories with many products, users searching for a brand have to open filters. With RKR Brand Carousel by Category, brands that have products in that category appear at the top of the list, with their logo: one tap and the list is set to include that brand, even on mobile. Use Amazing Filter or faceted search if you already have them, or its own filter; no libraries and with delayed image loading. Rekire Module.

Categories with a lot of branding

Your customer knows which brand they want. And they have to search for it among hundreds of products.

In a large category, finding a brand requires opening filters, expanding the list, and selecting it. RKR's Carousel of brands by category places the brands at the top of the list, with their logo: one tap and the category is left with only that brand.

Only brands that actually have something there

The carousel is calculated by category: it displays active brands with products that are active and visible in the catalog for the category the customer is viewing. A brand without products there doesn't appear, so no one clicks only to find an empty page. And if there are fewer brands in the category than the minimum you set (two by default), the carousel won't appear: with only one brand, there's nothing to filter.

With a logo, or with a name
Use the brand logo, adjusted to fit a landscape box so it doesn't look tiny or have bands. The brand without a logo displays its name.
Order as you like
First, the best-selling brands in that category, those with the most products, or in alphabetical order. And without slowing down the store: the brands are calculated once and saved, so each visit reads them in a millisecond; in large catalogs, an optional cron job updates them in the background. You can limit how many are displayed and show the name below the logo or the number of products.
Only what can be bought
If you activate it, the brands and the filter ignore out-of-stock products that do not accept orders.
Subcategories
Optional: also counts products from subcategories, for stores whose category pages list them.

Also on mobile, without opening filters

On mobile, the customer swipes through the brands with their finger; on a computer, arrows appear only if there are more brands than can fit. You decide how many logos are displayed simultaneously on each screen (computer and mobile), and the selected brand is highlighted in your preferred color. Images are loaded asynchronously, and the module does not include a carousel library.

/ It relies on the filter you already have

It doesn't force you to change your filtering method. In "Automatic" mode, the module checks what's in your store:

Amazing Filter
It redirects to the URL of your manufacturer's filter, preserving the other selected filters, and hides the labels that the filter does not currently offer.
PrestaShop faceted search
If the category has the brand filter, it uses it and reloads the listing without refreshing the page.
The filter itself
If neither is available, filter the module itself by the chosen brand. While this is active, the other filters in the category will not be visible; you can also force this.

The filtered addresses have nofollow and the page retains the category canonical: the carousel does not create new pages for Google.

Where it comes out and how it adjusts

The carousel appears above each category listing, in the theme's "displayHeaderCategory" slot (its order relative to other blocks can be changed in Design > Positions). If you prefer a different location within the theme, you can place it using {widget name="rkrbrandcarousel"} . It is designed for the Classic, Hummingbird, and related themes.

Sixteen settings on a single screen: show or hide the carousel, title by language (can include the category name), filter to use, order, minimum and maximum number of brands, name under the logo, number of products, subcategories, only buyable products, logos visible on computer and mobile, accent color, and categories where you don't want a carousel.

  • New "Best Sellers First" order, which is the default in new installations: units sold in that category in the last 365 days (adjustable). Updating retains your existing order.
  • The tags for each category are calculated once and stored for 6 hours (adjustable), so category pages don't repeat the query. When they expire, only one request is recalculated, and the others continue with the previous list.
  • Optional cron address to renew them in the background in large catalogs.
  • Logos: If writing to img/tmp wasn't possible, all logos were recreated on each visit. Now, this isn't attempted; each visit creates a maximum of 3 thumbnails, and subsequent visits use the original logo until their turn; cron handles them all.
