When migrating or reorganizing the store, the URLs with the most links are the ones that change. RKR Redirects saves each equivalence and resolves it precisely at the moment of the 404 error.
It doesn't allow saving anything that would break the store: redirecting the homepage, a 301 redirect with no destination, or a rule that points to itself. Capitalization, parameter order, and trailing slashes are ignored.
It accepts a .sql file from mysqldump (also in .gz format ) or a CSV/TSV file. It starts in test mode : it reads, reports, and doesn't write anything until you decide to. Along the way, it converts destinations with the old domain to relative paths, flattens A→B→C strings, resolves duplicate origins, removes spaces, normalizes www , and marks entries that lead to the homepage for review.
PrestaShop 8 vs. 9. In PrestaShop 9, all 404 errors are handled, including those for products and categories that no longer exist. In PrestaShop 8, path-based 404 errors are handled, but not those for products or categories whose URL matches a valid path and whose ID no longer exists. Redirects are not deleted upon uninstallation unless you request it.
