Why did we create this module?
PrestaShop allows a coupon applied to a shopping cart while still valid to continue discounting even after it has expired. If a customer reopens a cart from days ago, they complete the purchase with a discount that no longer applies.
We created this module to close that gap: before calculating any total, in the shopping cart and during the purchase process, remove coupons that are no longer valid and explain the reason to the customer.
This way your promotions end when you decide, without overrides, without touching the subject, and without loading the pages that matter most.

The typical scenario
You launch a weekend promotion. A customer adds products and applies the code on Sunday. On Wednesday, they return to their cart, complete the purchase… and the expired discount is still applied. Multiply that by all the abandoned carts in a campaign.
What are you doing
- Remove expired coupons (end date passed) from your cart.
- Remove those that are not yet valid (start date in the future).
- Optionally, also those that are deactivated or have exhausted their uses .
- Drag the gift product associated with the rule, if you have one.
- Notify the customer with a clear message explaining why the discount has disappeared.
At the right moment
The check is performed at the same point in the cycle where the cart validates its contents, before any total is calculated , both on the cart page and throughout the entire checkout process. The customer never sees an amount with a discount that they are not entitled to.
And it doesn't depend on stock management: it works exactly the same with stock management disabled in the store, with products that do not manage stock, or with sales allowed without stock.
Without penalizing performance
The shopping cart is the most sensitive page in the store. The module is designed to avoid adding any extra load.

The database is only updated when there is actually a coupon to redeem. The check is performed only once per request, regardless of how many times the shopping cart is filled.
