Why did we create this module?

Whenever you change the CSS or JavaScript of a PrestaShop store, many browsers continue to use the saved copy. Some of your customers see misaligned designs or errors that you can't reproduce.

You can't ask every visitor to clear their cache, so we made a module that solves this from the store: it adds a version to each file and, when the file changes, the browser downloads it again.

You publish the changes and everyone sees them at once, without touching the theme or activating options that combine or reorder your files.

Rekire Cache Buster

Every time you update your store's CSS or JavaScript, some visitors still see the old version stored in their browser cache. This results in misaligned layouts, styles that fail to load, and JavaScript errors that only affect a few users and are nearly impossible to reproduce. Rekire Cache Buster solves this problem completely: it forces the browser to automatically and transparently download the files as soon as they change.

The same old problem: after a theme change, you can't ask each customer to press Ctrl+F5 to clear their cache. Until they do, they still see a broken store. This module solves this for you, without the user having to do anything.

How it works

The module adds a version marker ( ?v= ) to each local CSS and JS file in your front office. When that marker changes, the browser understands that the file is new and downloads it again instead of serving the cached copy.
